Through the Okavango Delta, across the vast Makgadikgadi Pans, over the ancient stones of the Matopos, along the spray-soaked paths of Victoria Falls and deep into the Namib Desert. Through mud, scorching heat, freezing cold, and soaking rains.
But most memorably they once saved my life in the Magalies Mountains when the deep grooves in their soles gave me the secure footing I needed at the very moment before a dangerous fall.

They took a puff adder bite on a night walk that surely saved my foot as we were days away from a hospital.

At exactly three decades later this month, my Courteney boots remain one of the most reliable, durable, and beloved possessions I have ever owned.

I recently bought my first pair of Courtney boots, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about them. From the moment I slipped them on, they felt perfectly broken in — no blisters, no rubbing, just pure comfort. The cushioning and arch support are incredible, making long hikes feel effortless even on rough terrain. The quality of the leather and construction is outstanding. They manage to be tough enough for rocky trails while still looking sharp enough to wear around town. The traction is excellent, and they’ve handled everything from muddy inclines to slick stones without missing a beat.
